At once modern and rugged, elegant and understated, this intimate Amangiri elopement is proof that creating beautiful designs in the most remote places is always well worth it.

Casa Adela, San Miguel De Allende Mexico

An intimate wedding

Sometimes the most luxurious details look the simplest, and this intimate, luxury wedding day at Casa Adela is no exception. Set just outside San Miguel de Allende, Casa Adela offers couples a private slice of serenity away from all the city hustle. It’s one of the most unique wedding venues in Mexico, with a dynamic range of styles, textures and landscapes filling every corner of the property. Casa Adela bridges vintage Spanish influence with modern Italian flair, making the venue – and the couples it attracts and the designs it inspires – wholly unique.

On a wedding weekend, every little detail matters. From the flowers to the napkins to the place cards, taking time to capture each element helps to create timeless memories that reflect the feeling of a place, and the story of the couple. As luxury wedding designers, we create everything with intention. And for this Mexico destination wedding at Casa Adela, every texture, color and design element we chose had to be a perfect complement for the foliage, landscape and architecture of this luxury wedding venue.

Our tablescape was the crescendo of this intimate dinner – set intentionally in the courtyard surrounded by pops of green foliage and peachy, stucco walls. As a nod to the venue’s juxtaposition of old-world Spanish elegance and modern Italian minimalism, we leaned into creating moments that paired contrasting elements to elevate the two defining personalities of Casa Adela.

At the heart of it all, we wanted to let the dimension of the space for itself. We designed a simple set up that would complement Casa Adela’s colors and textures, focusing on a muted and neutral color palette of whites, ivories and soft pops of green. We leveraged negative space between tablescape elements and monobloom floral clusters to create a simple design that wouldn’t compete with the surroundings. But as a nod to the venue’s juxtaposition of Italian and Spanish detail, we chose place setting elements that both heightened luxurious details and showcased countryside comfort to create an overall elevated and classic vibe.

We paired intricate vintage plates with simple glassware, marrying that old Spanish opulence with modern minimalism. And in the vintage, patterned plates, we opted for pieces with green filigree to play off the surrounding greens in the courtyard. Grapes and limes on the tabletop heighten the color continuity throughout the space, creating an organic contrast to the clear glassware and soft whites of the linens, flowers and candlelight.

Every detail of this wedding tablescape, from the color to the textures down to the location of the dinner, works in tandem to tell a story. A story about a space defined by two identities, a perfect reflection of a marriage represented by two individuals, coming together as one for an evening under the stars in the heart of San Miguel’s desert oasis.

Events at Amangiri, Canyon Point UT

MOLLY Holm’s BACHELORETTE PARTY

At Mae&Co Creative, we love a good party. And when it comes to throwing a show-stopping bachelorette, we know it's all about creating over the top luxury, high fashion designs and creating unforgettable memories for your closest friends and family. For Molly Holm, fiancée to TOMS Shoe Founder Blake Mycoskie, her bachelorette party was nothing short of spectacular. Hosted at Amangiri, this three-day celebration was filled with spirituality, opulence and good vibes.

DAY ONE:

The bachelorette party kicked off with the guests arriving on private flights and being greeted with vegan smoothies upon arrival for a Kundalini yoga class at Amangiri. From there, the group participated in a unique meditation practice and Hapé ceremony led by Sarah Richie. This spiritual experience in somatic alchemy and breath-work allowed the girls to connect and align their hearts and chakras, setting the tone for a weekend filled with good energy and positivity. To create a soft, healing space for Molly and her girls to connect, we designed a welcome ceremony room complete with large feathery arrangements, full draping with luxe chiffon and white silk and a floral mandala. The setting was complete with a large lounge set up with fur rugs, poufs and an altar, creating a space that was truly enchanting.

In the evening, the festivities were inspired by none other than Marie Antoinette. When Molly asked us to create the most stunning Marie Antionette themed dinner for the first night of her bachelorette party at Amangiri, I could see it instantly: pink ruffles, extravagant lighting, fluffy florals and vintage scrolls as menus - and it came together seamlessly. The guests dressed up in custom-made wigs, costumes, and makeup in true Rococo fashion, with pannier skirts and decorative frills. We transformed Amangiri’s Desert Lounge into a Versailles-inspired dinner party, with overhead crystal chandeliers, cascading pink flowers and vines spilling onto the table and a lush mirror-filled floral runner. Every detail was luxe and custom-made, with specially designed pink-hued tablescapes, custom chiffon linens, rose-tinted glassware and uniquely designed cakes. The day ended with a dance party into the early hours of the morning, making for the perfect first day for this unforgettable bachelorette party at Amangiri.

DAY TWO:
For day two of Molly’s bachelorette party at Amangiri, we designed and built a full dance club in the middle of the desert. And to say we were happy with the finished product is an understatement. After a morning spent recharging with spa treatments, the girls glammed up for a space cowgirl disco-themed dinner in the middle of the moon - the hidden crater at Amangiri’s Raven’s Nest site. We loved creating the details for this perfect second dinner to a three day bachelorette, with a luxury disco tablescape adorned with black orchids, melted disco balls featured and dynamic candlelight. As the sun dipped below the surrounding sandstone, galaxy lights created an Kusama-like setting with radiating light bouncing off the canyon. As guests sipped espresso martinis and popped gold umbrellas under a canopy of suspended disco lights, the starry-night ambience set the perfect tone for a night of celebration.

After dinner, the gals made their way to a disco dance party. Building this drop dead dance club with a custom bar set up was no easy feat, but it was nothing short of extraordinary. A live DJ and saxophone player brought the energy to this extravagant disco space cowboy party that felt like a scene from a luxury Burning Man pop up - complete with a raunchy bachelorette ice luge, disco dancers and a custom s'mores set up. When clients trust us with their dreams and allow us to think outside of the box, thats when the magic happens, and this opulence disco dance party in the heart of southwest desert was no exception.

DAY THREE:
We capped the weekend with a cozy jungle themed dinner, complete with lush trees and plant installations creating an overgrown and organic jungle vibe. A perfect meal before Molly and her girls enjoyed a final spiritual, closing ceremony to set intentions for the milestone to come.

Molly’s bachelorette weekend was an experience filled with majestic canyons, disco decadence, lavish installs and truly monumental moments. And we couldn’t have been more thankful to be part of the magic for this luxury event.

Paradero Hotel, Todos Santos, Mexico

Whitney and Stefen’s Wedding

From our very first meeting, Whitney was one of those dream clients where we connected instantly, and we couldn’t wait to work together through thick and through thin to design her and Stefan’s dream wedding at the Paradero luxury resort in Todos Santos, Mexico. In our initial conversations, Whitney told me "I want my wedding to feel like a dream" and we were determined to make that happen for her, plus some. We wanted to find somewhere unique, that also matched Whit and Stef's personal aesthetic and vibe. When I found Paradero Hotel in Todos Santos Mexico, I knew it would be the perfect place to plan their weekend wedding experience - and they felt the same.

Whit and Stef wanted to create the ultimate three-day destination wedding experience for their guests, and we were honored to create a climatic experience for this wedding weekend. We started Whit and Stef's celebration off with welcome mocktails and s'mores in the flower field adjacent to the hotel itself. Low key music and string lighting created soft ambience throughout the space, keeping the focus on the couple’s connection and the overwhelming sense of celebration as all of our guests arrived.

For every event throughout the weekend, we challenged ourselves to utilize different spaces on the stunning property so that no experience would feel, smell or taste the same. For our welcome dinner, we completely took over the communal area of Paradero and brought in custom-built tables and installed 6-foot ribbon chandeliers above them. This design completely transformed the space and added an authentic, Mexican-inspired vibe while keeping the modern, neutral architecture of the venue itself. Every detail for this night was within our overall color palette but we learned heavily into the more neutral and modern tones like ivory, white, black and tan. Our place settings complimented our chandeliers by incorporating different "fringe" elements and we worked with our paper good designer to create beautiful, landscape style menus wrapped in a handmade crochet paper. Lastly, we kept our floral design minimal so as to not distract from our statement pieces, and utilized stone vessels and dried elements throughout.

For our Paradero wedding day design, we chose locations on the property that we had never seen used before to make the big day feel completely unique and special to Whit and Stef. We wanted to highlight the architecture of the venue while also complimenting the desert surroundings. So we placed the ceremony in the middle of the "cactus garden" and set up our chairs in a very organic formation so it would feel as though we were almost hidden amongst the landscape. The ceremony design was a true labor of love that I’d do 1,000 times over again. Because when you build an aisle and ceremony so grand, people mistake it for part of the venue’s architecture - that’s a good feeling.

Our team designed a stunning aisle and ceremony backdrop that complimented the lush surroundings,  building height and depth to accentuate the ceremony as the most important moment in the day. We worked with a local production company to build, paint and install 12, 10-foot half arches that were placed in precisely the right location to create a stunning shot from every angle. These arches were color matched with the hotel building themselves and them custom tinted to a lighter shade so they would really stand out. We then adorned them with lush, monochromatic clusters of florals for a lux but organic feel, bringing in more blush and mauve tones to give it that "pop" amongst the desert landscape.

This luxury wedding ceremony in Todos Santos hit the mark in every way. Whit shared: “My heart could’ve exploded from the amount of gratitude I felt on my wedding day. With every heartbreak I’ve met, with every loss I’ve felt… it all led me to Stefan. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world that Stefan was choosing me. There was magic in the air, I was the happiest I’ve ever been.”

The magic continued at the reception dinner hosted at the half-moon pool where we created a stunning reveal for the guests. We set up our tables to mock the half-moon shape of the pool, in an arched formation and then installed twinkle lights that stretch from over the tables all the way past the pool and then water-falled down into what looked like the ever expansive desert. We intentionally designed the lighting to pass over the pool because the reflection that was created in the pool made the entire space look dreamy, almost starry, everywhere you looked. We used organic linens and stoneware but paired them with large, lush, blush toned florals for an elegant but natural feel.

Two years in the making, Whitney Simmon’s destination wedding at Paradero in Todos Santos was made possible by her and Stefan’s unwavering trust in our team, and we’ll never get over this day we created with so much love and intention.

Mae&Co Creative’s venue heat map: our favorite luxury hotels and wedding venues in Mexico for 2024.

At Mae&Co Creative, we pour our everything into curating luxury events worldwide, and we love planning destination weddings in Mexico. While Cabo and Cancun have been popularized by resort weddings, we believe in finding high-end venues in more untouched and undiscovered corners of this beautiful country. Whether you’re looking for perfect surf, colorful countryside or cosmopolitan glamor, we have our pulse on where to get married in Mexico in 2024, and these are the best venues you haven’t heard of yet.

Casona Sforza

High-design is trending on Mexico’s Oaxacan coast, and we can’t get enough of the luxury adult hotels and wedding venues in Puerto Escondido. This coastal paradise feels like Tulum did 10 years ago, full of undiscovered blue waters, wellness retreats and jaw-dropping wedding venues in Mexico. Nestled in the beachside jungle, Casona Sforza is new to the scene, but this coastal property designed by legendary architect Alberto Kalach  is already making waves. Imagine feeling unmoored from time and space basking in a private pool on the morning of your wedding day, celebrating with your closest pals at Casona Sforza’s mixology bar, then hosting an open-air reception inspired by nature. Perfect for buyouts and destination wedding weekends, this luxury hotel is sure to find its way to the top of 2024 wedding venue hit lists.

Galopina

The understated minimalist luxury is a perfect canvas for events - the sharp, structural walls offer a stunning backdrop for a ceremony. And Galopina’s bold design stands apart, ready to invite modern wedding design and neutral luxury installations for an art-inspired ceremony in Mexico’s Yucatan jungle. We’re calling it: this will be one of the best destination wedding venues in Mexico in 2024.

Hotel San Cristobal Baja

Todos Santos is a romantic paradise in southern Baja California, and Liz Lambert’s iconic Hotel San Cristobal has some of our favorite venue spaces on the peninsula. Todos Santos is brimming with boutique properties that are perfect for an eco-conscious, modern wedding, but Hotel San Cristobal remains the most iconic destination venue in the area. With a range of charming event spaces - including private beachfront to an antique abalone cannery to an intimate stone chapel, this is the perfect space for the couple seeking something equally low key and sophisticated.

Our pro tip: say I do on the rooftop terrace before enjoying cocktails on the pool terrace before ending the night by candlelight in the citrus garden.

Proyecto Publico Prim

Step back in time at Proyecto Publico Prim, a colonial-era historical space that once housed revolution leaders, a cigar company and some of the most iconic weddings in Mexico City. As Mexico City continues to emerge as a fine-dining and architectural hot spot, Proyecto Publico Prim is steps from Michelin star dining and the country’s finest art galleries. But the space itself is the true attraction: it’s an eclectic and elegant estate fit for luxury destination weddings in Mexico’s most cosmopolitan city.

Autocamp Yosemite, Midpines, CA

A Few of Our Favorite Weddings at Autocamp Yosemite

Yosemite is one of those places that never loses its striking grandeur — the place is an experience in itself. This iconic National Park is well known for its dramatic viewpoints, like Glacier and Taft Point, but the park is filled with lesser-known elopement locations in the valley too. If your dream day includes hiking to waterfalls and exploring majestic natural beauty, let us help you plan an adventurous wedding experience in Yosemite —and let’s start with finding the perfect basecamp.

One of the best lodging options near Yosemite National Park is Autocamp: a new experience-based accommodation rental. Autocamp Yosemite is conveniently close to the park entrance, giving you the freedom to spend the day hiking, climbing, or exploring the park. The modern space stands in sharp contrast to so many of the rustic cabins in Yosemite Valley. This boutique lodging experience offers sleek airstreams, minimalist cabins, and glamping tents, and their warm, mid-century modern clubhouse is the perfect Yosemite wedding venue. With a lower lawn and flexible wedding set up locations, we love the modern, versatile design of Autocamp Yosemite.

Brian & Lindsay’s Micro Wedding

From the very beginning, Brian and Lindsay knew that they wanted to do things differently, and they were looking for something that was unique and authentic to their relationship. Yosemite was the first place they traveled together, and we knew that planning an intimate micro wedding at Autocamp Yosemite would be the perfect fit for these two adventurers.

While we’ve styled and designed many weddings in Yosemite, this experience was completely unique. A week before Lindsay and Brian’s micro wedding, Yosemite shut down due to hazardous smoke, and because Yosemite was operating with a limited visitor capacity and a permit system, the park was so still and quiet. We planned and replanned (as stylists and planners often do behind the scenes!) to bring this intimate wedding to life despite all odds for our couple. And at the end of the day, everything turned out exactly as it was meant to be. In a traditionally busy season, Brian and Lindsay ended up having one of the most iconic vista points in Yosemite, Tunnel View, to themselves without another soul in site.

These two spend the morning saying their vows and exploring the park in complete privacy. After a day of adventure, they ended their night celebrating at Autocamp with their closest friends. We wanted to create a space that took full advantage of Autocamp’s beautiful, modern property, so we designed unique areas for the guests to enjoy throughout the property. After a casual happy hour, the guests wandered down the slopes to the lower lawn to find styled lounge areas and an intimate dinner tablescape

The tablescape colors were inspired by the fall bloom in Yosemite’s valley. Rust, ochre, sand, and blush colors elevated the golden magic of the surrounding landscape, creating a sensation that the wedding venue flowed seamlessly into the neighboring national park.

To create an intimate, upscale design, we used string lights to illuminate the long farm table dinner. The tablescape design featured modern gold rimmed chargers and dinner plates, brass flatware, amber goblets, and rust colored napkins, to integrate with the surrounding colors of Yosemite valley. The design was simple and understated, with florals filling ceramic bud vases and candlesticks standing tall in their modern brass holders. And after the sun went down, the lights illuminated a desert disco dance party — the only way to celebrate having the park and a beautiful Yosemite wedding venue completely to themselves for this national park micro wedding.

Todos Santos, Baja California, Mexico

A Few of Our Favorite Weddings in Todos Santos

Todos Santos is a romantic paradise in southern Baja California. This sleepy coastal town is full of wild possibility: you can spent a long weekend surfing breaks, you can lose yourself wandering the charming cobblestone streets, or you can even find your way to Todos Santos for a destination elopement. Todos Santos is brimming with boutique properties that are perfect for an eco-conscious, modern wedding. If your dream day involves sipping mezcal while you watch the sun fade into the Pacific, you should explore our favorite Todos Santos hotel venues.

As a Todos Santos wedding planner we’ve spent years cultivating rich relationships with local vendors. Between the stunning venues and the unbelievable kind and talented creatives, we love designing weddings in this sunny paradise. If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in Todos Santos, let us help you plan a luxury event in beautiful Baja California.

Melissa & KB’s Wedding

Edgy, elegant, modern, eco-conscious — this Todos Santos elopement at Pachamama is one of our favorite destination weddings in Mexico. Pachamama is a unique Todos Santos resort with luxury villas, unsurpassed coastal views, and white, adobe tepees. We love the versatility of the resort, as there are endless opportunities to create a timeless, polished event or curate an eclectic, bohemian celebration.

For our designs, we always consider our couple: what are their likes and dislikes, how can we create something that is unique to them? For this Todos Santos destination wedding, we turned to our couple: Melissa and KB. KB is a luxury suit designer and Melissa is a multi-media artist. They understand the beauty in creating art through texture, color, and style, so we wanted to create an elopement design that would keep them and their talent at the center.

Inspired by the white-washed terra-cotta and the turquoise tile throughout Todos Santos, we created a vibrant color palette that would play off the warm, coastal feel of the sleepy beach resort town. Using our couple as our design muse, we worked with Good Seed Floral to incorporate tropical monsteras and inviting neutral blooms throughout the modern ceremony installation and tablescape to elevate the warm ocean setting. KB wore a muted teal suit while Melissa played with textures of silk and fringe in her dress and accessories. By creating an elegant, neutral understated backdrop for our couple, we created a space that allowed their personal style to be at the forefront — a perfect way to celebrate their shared love of bold design.

And to play up the chic, edgy feel of Pachamama, we sourced unique, soft black rentals from Warehouse Rentals to help modernize our tablescape design. With black fringe chargers at every table setting, white ceramics, and modern blush accents, we loved finding textures and materials that contrasted perfectly with the couple’s bold style and the breezy ocean backdrop.

Styled Wedding Shoot

Pachamama is one of our favorite venues for elegant destination weddings in Todos Santos, and this boho, beachy, monochromatic elopement at Pachamama is one of our favorites. This versatile Todos Santos resort is equal parts wild jungle and sophisticated luxury, and we loved leaning into the white-washed terra-cotta resort elements to create a neutral, monochromatic design for our couple.

For this elopement design, we wanted to create boho feel that matched our bride and groom’s style. We created a color palette inspired by Pachamama, featuring white, sand, copper, amber, and muted sage tones to establish an understated, modern backdrop. To add depth to our monochromatic wedding design, we played with texture. Inspired by the natural, wood thatched doors at Pachamama, we incorporated fringe lanterns throughout the custom ceremony design, complemented by pampas grass and rattan chargers throughout the modern elopement tablescape. We balanced our dynamic textures with smooth copper flatware and ceramic plates, too, mirroring the suave, white-washed walls of Pachamama’s villas and teepees.

Our neutral design not only created a timeless, modern feel for this elopement, but also celebrated the location. Here at Mae&Co, we’re big on finding textures that will contrast again the location and the view, and we loved the way this elegant monochromatic design came together to celebrate beach setting of Todos Santos. The cool turquoise waters lining this warm, Baja California coast stood out against the soft, neutral tones, creating a beach feel that perfectly matched our couple’s style.

Kima Tulum, Quinta Roo, Mexico

A Few of our Favorite Weddings in Tulum

Kima Tulum is an under-the-radar jungle oasis just outside of Tulum’s city center. This modern villa is located on a sprawling private estate, a world apart from the energetic hustle of Tulum, but still close enough to enjoy the city’s crystal blue beaches. This off-grid wedding venue is a design-lover’s dream come true: the beautiful, white-washed walls give the exterior a warm, Mediterranean feel, while the interiors blend Ibizan style and rich Mayan culture with natural, locally sourced materials.

This Tulum venue offers a perfect alfresco setting for a destination wedding, featuring rich jungle greens and vibrant textures throughout the idyllic space. And with three luxurious guest suites, a stunning lap pool, and private gardens throughout the property, you’re able to enjoy a completely private stay and keep the party going long after you’ve said “I do.”

Katherine & Daniel’s Wedding

Earthy, modern, sophisticated, unique — this stunning destination elopement at Kima Tulum was all of those things and more.

To create a one-of-a-kind luxury wedding at this completely off-grid and remote venue we created a unique color palette that would play off the rich, jungle greens. Using Kima Tulum as our inspiration, we worked with Best Day Ever Floral Design to incorporate bold, dark grey, blues throughout the floral elements and tablescape to create contrast against the greenery in Tulum while complimenting the cool, modern lines of the venue. And to play up the earthy feels of Tulum, we sourced unique, soft black rentals from Archive Rentals to help modernize our palette. With black fringe chargers at every table setting, muted black taper holders, dark rattan-style hanging lanterns, and black-framed wishbone chairs, we loved incorporating a dark accent to make the design pop.

We utilized the venue’s locally-sourced wood tables for the elopement reception, but we added our own touch of intimacy by adding overhead string lighting and hanging pendants to illuminate and elevate our dinner nook. And with added terracotta, brass, and sand tablescape details, all of the tablescape design elements worked together to create a romantic intimate vibe — perfectly capturing the warm feel of an evening under the stars in Tulum’s coastal jungle.

Paulina & Gabe’s Wedding

This destination wedding at Kima Tulum was so special, because it was not easy to get to. After months of planning, venue changes, replanning, and so many pivots in the face of a global pandemic, Paulina and Gabe’s jungle wedding at this off-grid resort ended up feeling exactly like it was meant to be.

For Paulina and Gabe, we love the unique challenge of creating a wedding design that would contrast the jungle while complimenting it at the same time. We built a custom modern, minimalist frame for the ceremony backdrop, providing a sense of structure against the wild and lush jungle background. While the rigid shape of the arch worked in contrast to the wild feel of the jungle, the dark wood complemented the natural setting perfectly. To build on the idea of our design working in contrast and in tandem with the jungle setting, we worked with Best Day Ever Floral Design to juxtapose bleached and fresh palms, creating a unique ceremony design.

For the reception, we drew our inspiration from Kima Tulum: a luxury wedding venue in the heart of an off-grid setting. A place completely unexpected, and completely enchanting. We believe intimate romance can be found in this most exotic places, so we wanted to elevate the magic this secret Todos Santos wedding venue by making the reception to look like it grew out of the jungle. All of the florals on the tablescape are inspired by the jungle. And to elevate the wild, jungle feel we dusty pink and soft coral colors throughout the modern tablescape design — matching the bold colors of the tropical anthuriums. We loved playing with height and dimension for this design too, choosing tall taper candles to match the oversized palms. We loved every detail of this intimate reception design, from the pink crystal glassware to the rattan fringe chargers, from the string lights to the modern place settings, everything worked in tandem to set the tone for a perfect evening under the stars dancing to a local mariachi band.

We work hard for our clients. From a complete replan and postponements to the completely remote venue, from the hurricane and storms rolling through the city to building structures in the middle of the jungle, we mean it when we say you won’t have to worry about a thing on your wedding day. We’re so thankful for our clients who trust us 110% to plan, design, coordinate, and take care of them — even in the most remote and hidden places.
